Solenix Workshop - The Elastic Stack20 December 2016

For our December workshop, we went through the functionalities and benefits of using the Elastic Stack (formerly the ELK Stack).

This free and open-source set of tools provides the ability to collect, store and visualise data from any source. It is particularly useful to synthesize big amounts of data into one comprehensible dashboard, allowing its users to quickly extract relevant information out of data. The Elastic Stack consists of four different components: a dashboard (Kibana), a database (ElasticSearch) and two data collectors (Logstash and Beats).

Solenix supports the Copernicus Data Hackathon in Vienna09 November 2016

Last Friday and Saturday, more than 50 developers met at the Media Quarter Marx in Vienna for the Copernicus Data Hackathon. This event was organised by INiTS, the business incubator of the local university, and its goal was to create and prototype concepts for innovative services using Copernicus data.

Be a Star in ESA’s Universe24 October 2016

Tonight Yann is speaking at the Basel stop of the Swiss Space Roadshow. In one of the three presentations of the evening, he is going to talk about his experience working with ESA and the various career paths at Solenix. A panel discussion and a networking session complete this event. It will give the 60+ registered students and young engineers the opportunity to ask questions to representatives from ESA, the Swiss government, companies and academia.

Solenix Workshop - Spring Boot11 October 2016

During our latest regular Solenix Workshop we had a thorough look at Spring Boot and how it can benefit us in our current and future software projects.

Spring Boot allows creating rich application launchers harnessing the full power of the Spring framework. It allows us to create self-contained applications, which bring all the necessary utensils, including web servers, database connectors, etc. in a single package and a single process. As usual with the Spring framework, Spring Boot makes using sophisticated features much easier.
